THE COMPANY
History
In the late 80s, Francisco González Sánchez, from his position as a manufacturer of cork stoppers, watching the situation in the wine sector in Castilla La Mancha and forecasting in the medium and long run large surpluses of grapes in the region, founded Juicerfruits in 1989, counting on an initial capital of 10 million pesetas, invested to create the initial project.
During the following three years and while waiting for the approval from the government, Francisco Gonzalez began the search for those who would be his partners in this adventure. After this three years and almost coinciding with the approval from the government of Castilla La Mancha, the works began in the Valdepeñas plant, ending in late October and being inaugurated by the President of Castilla la Mancha region D. José Bono Martinez.
The early years of Juicerfruits were really traumatic due to the fact that 1994 and 1995 were the driest years of the last century. In Castilla La Mancha (a region with large surpluses of grapes) these two years didn’t yield enough raw material to elaborate wine, let alone for grape juices. With virtually neither money nor customers the company suffered losses of approximately 100 million pesetas in 1994.
Since then up to now Francisco Gonzalez has had the confidence of his partners and even though they were facing such a bad start to the company, they willingly accepted to make further capital injections to start, as of 1996, a journey of investment projects, research, growth and furthermore, sustained benefits.
Later on the company had the opportunity to grow and due to lack of land around our plant in Valdepeñas we bought some land in the nearby town of La Solana where we created a new plant that can process a million kilos of grapes per day to supply the needs of the main plant.
Afterwards the company undertakes a new investment project in the town of Manzanares where, anticipating future growth and to avoid running out of space the company buys 30,000 square meters of land. Up to now, three investment projects have been undertaken, the last one being the installation of an aseptic room that allows us to produce white and red natural SO2-Free Juice. This SO2-Free Juice is the result of five years of research by our R & D team. This facility is the only one in the world for this type of product and has received all kinds of praises from the specialized press and the members of the Agriculture Eurochamber who came to visit it.
With the idea of moving forward and growing and in order to ensure the best quality products to our clients, Juicerfruits decided, even though being risky and costly, to install a facility in the southern hemisphere, offering its most demanding clients the opportunity to have a harvest every six months which would provide the most natural and the highest quality products. To achieve this it was clear that the Spanish business model should be followed, controlling the traceability from the grapes. After four years of planning and modifications due to changes in Chilean environmental law, Mostos del Pacifico S.A. was launched on March 29th 2008, being inaugurated by the Minister of Economy, Hugo Lavados and various parliamentary authorities from the Region del Maule.
Nowadays Juicerfruits with nearly 20 years of experience in the sector, aims to always provide excellent products from the best raw materials, constantly aiming towards client’s satisfaction, which can only be achieved through the most modern technology and a continuous process of research and development of new products (SO2 Free Juices, Organic Juices, Varietal Grape Juices,…)
